The English Department is excited to announce that we will once again be offering students the chance to take part in a “Creative Writing Excellence Program”. This program offers students the opportunity to develop their creative writing skills and ideas. During the program, students will read and discuss a range of narratives and will hone their own creative writing skills by writing a short story. All completed short stories will be published in a student anthology which will be presented to graduating students, along with a Certificate of Graduation from the University of the Sunshine Coast, upon completion of the course.
Maria Arena, a published author and lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast, will deliver the workshops and, as the university subsidises the program, there will be no cost to students.
The program will run for 8 weeks during Term Two. Sessions will take place at the school on Thursday afternoons from 3:15pm to 4:45pm. The first session will commence on Thursday April 23rd (the first week back of Term Two). Students will have to arrange transport home on these afternoons.
Further information and permission forms can be collected from Mrs Moyls, in Staffroom 5.
