Urangan State High School Students Shine at $20 Boss Youth Markets
Urangan State High School's entrepreneurial spirit was on full display as three motivated students participated in the Youth Markets during the Food n Groove event on 3 November at the Seafront Oval.
The evening proved to be a tremendous success, attracting several hundred attendees and providing a platform for the students to showcase their innovative creations.
Clancy's Creations and Make 4 Kids, the brainchildren of these aspiring young entrepreneurs, stood out with their unique offerings.
From plants and crocheted animals to handmade jewellery and macrame decorations, the stalls featured a diverse range of items crafted with care and creativity by Nina.
Additionally, the duo of Calissa and Samara added an extra touch of excitement to their offerings with silly slime, lucky dip prizes, and balloon art.
The young ladies not only captivated the audience with their creative products but also experienced the tangible rewards of their hard work.
Beyond the immediate success of making heaps of sales, they gained greater confidence, valuable experience, and increased profits in their bank accounts.
The $20 Boss Program, under which these young entrepreneurs operated, played a pivotal role in fostering their business acumen and encouraging a hands-on approach to entrepreneurship.
The $20 Boss Program, pioneered by the Foundation for Young Australians, empowers students to become entrepreneurs by providing them with $20 in start-up capital to create and operate their own small businesses.
This hands-on experience allows students to apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to real-world scenarios, fostering essential skills such as financial literacy, creativity, and problem-solving.
