Urangan State High School's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program empowers students to engage in 21st-century learning by integrating personal digital devices into their daily education. All students are required to supply an iPad as standard school equipment, facilitating access to the school's wireless network, internet, printing services, and essential educational resources.
The program supports a range of devices, including iPads, Windows, and Mac laptops, ensuring flexibility for families. To participate, students and parents must review and sign the BYO iPad Charter, which outlines responsibilities such as maintaining device security, ensuring devices are fully charged for school use, and adhering to appropriate digital citizenship standards.
Urangan SHS offers technical support for device connectivity and provides some school-supplied software, including Microsoft Office 365. While the school facilitates access, families are encouraged to ensure devices are insured against accidental damage or loss. For assistance, the BYO iPad helpdesk operates Monday to Friday from 8:15 am to 8:45 am.
This initiative reflects Urangan State High School's commitment to fostering digital literacy and preparing students for future academic and professional endeavors.
