Sports news
Welcome to the Urangan State High School sport page. This is your gateway to sporting and competitive excellence, every minute, every day.
The school is dedicated to providing all students with quality access to and participation in a wide variety of sporting opportunities and experiences. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to partake in numerous sporting events, including:
Three sporting carnivals (swimming, cross country and athletics)
Summer and winter trials
Inter-school competitions (rugby league, rugby union, netball, basketball and oz tag)
Regional and state-wide competitions (Golden glove softball, Bill Turner soccer, Vicky Wilson netball).
This list is by no means exhaustive and there are a number of other sporting opportunities available throughout the year.
Our school also offers highly qualified and experienced staff providing quality coaching, managing and mentoring to our students.
It is expected that when representing the school at any sporting event, that students do so with pride and respect. All students representing the school in sport do so in accordance with the Urangan State High School sport representation policy (see links on the right). In addition, students must also abide to the district team travel policy and guidelines (PDF, 380 KB).
If a medical form is required for a student to participate in their sport, please download the Hervey Bay District School Sport Permission Form (PDF, 148KB).
