Urangan State High School is located in picturesque Hervey Bay, as part of the Department of Education's North Coast Region, and has been serving the community of Hervey Bay since 1992. Hervey Bay city has continued its strong growth with the population skyrocketing from some 30,000 in 1991 to over 63,000 in 2021.
Trends show this growth rate - one of Australia's highest - will continue well into the next century. The Fraser Coast Regional Council continues to focus on planning for growth, with intensive town planning, exciting urban designs, and upgraded infrastructure.
Urangan State High School sits at the heart of the rapidly developing suburban communities of Kawungan, Torquay, and Urangan as well as the semi rural areas of Booral and River Heads.
