Why Hervey Bay?

The city of Hervey Bay is located a comfortable three and a half hours drive or 45 minute flight north of Brisbane. It has a great sub-tropical climate, with Summer (January) temperatures averaging 29 degrees Celsius and a Winter (July) average of 21 degrees Celsius. Hervey Bay's abundance of natural assets includes the Great Sandy Strait, world heritage listed Fraser Island, the bay and the wetlands. It boasts a quality of life that balances work and pleasure, and is a clean, safe city that has a goal of being Queensland's most accessible city.

Hervey Bay is also one of the main access points to Fraser Island and major regional tourist attractions. It is renowned as a destination for backpackers. The whale watching industry has grown to a level where approximately 75,000 visitors per annum depart from Hervey Bay on daily whale watching trips. In total, approximately 600,000 visitors come to this region each year.
