Urangan State High School’s Special Education Program (SEP) is committed to supporting students with disabilities and additional learning needs through inclusive, personalised education. The program focuses on providing a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally at their own pace.
At the heart of the SEP is a team of passionate and experienced staff who work closely with students, families, and specialists to develop Individual Support Plans (ISPs) tailored to each student's goals and abilities. Students are supported both in mainstream classes and in small-group or one-on-one settings, depending on their individual needs. The program also emphasises the development of life skills, communication, social interaction, and independent living capabilities.
Through a combination of classroom support, modified curriculum pathways, and access to assistive technologies, SEP students are empowered to achieve success and reach their full potential. Urangan SHS celebrates diversity and works to ensure every student is included, valued, and given the opportunity to flourish as confident, capable members of the school community.
