In Semester 2, 2022 Urangan State High School once again supported the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre (HBNC) with its annual Fraser Coast Youth Survey. The goal of the survey is to provide information about what our community is experiencing so that various stakeholders can work together to achieve common goals.
HBNC Tanya Stevenson said while some of the data could be confronting, the survey helped provide a clearer picture of what young people in our community are facing… “without data, it is harder to provide appropriate solutions and support networks."
Data from previous surveys has helped to shape youth support services in our region and the ways in which school communities, like Urangan State High School can partner with these services to support our young people.
USHS continues to work with and celebrate the great achievements of our community partners, like the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre. While it is clear that there is still much work to be done, continual improvements in our regional youth support services have achieved some positive progress worthy of acknowledgement which is evident in the data acquired through the Fraser Coast Youth Survey:
