Certificate II Resources and Infrastructure - Newsletter

This year, students in Year 10-12 have an exciting opportunity to participate in a Certificate II Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation program during Term 4.

Training is provided onsite at Urangan SHS through an external training provider: SDS Training.

The Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation is a pathway qualification and will prepare an individual to successfully undertake a sector specified Certificate III from the Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

Possible career outcomes (Industries) include:
*Small mine operator
*Open cut miner (Metalliferous mining)
*Open cut coal mining
*Building and Construction labourer
*Civil construction worker

Training for students will be undertaken over 4 x three-day blocks. Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's of Weeks 1-4 of Term 4

It is important to note, that this will have an impact on remaining school subjects as students will be engaged in other training for three out of the five school days.

The Resources and Infrastructure course is covered under the Government VETiS funding framework. 

For students who have previously utilised, or are currently accessing VETiS funding, there is a cost of approximately $1200.

If students wish to apply for this course, they are able to collect a hard copy application form from Student Services and can see Mr Austin if they have questions.

All completed application forms are to be returned to Mr Austin directly.
Please note, two forms of ID are also required to be provided (copies). Possible examples include; Birth certificate, Passport, Driver Licence (Learner or Provisional), Green coloured Medicare card.

Completed applications are to be returned to Mr Austin by 3pm Wednesday 28th August.​​
