Urangan State High School students and staff proudly cut the ribbon to officially launch the new Wellbeing Hub, an initiative aimed at enhancing the mental health and overall wellness of the student body.
Recognising the critical importance of supporting students' mental health in today's fast-paced world, Urangan State High School has taken a proactive approach by establishing this dedicated hub. The Wellbeing Hub serves as a nurturing space where students can access a wide range of resources to promote mental health, emotional resilience, and positive social interactions.
Designed to provide comprehensive support to students facing various challenges, the Wellbeing Hub offers confidential sessions with Guidance Officers, Youth Support Coordinator and School Based Youth Health Nurse.
Principal, Tony McCormack, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "Our Wellbeing Hub is a tangible manifestation of our dedication to fostering an environment that goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. It is a space designed to support and promote mental health, emotional resilience, and positive social interactions. By bringing the myriad elements of our broad wellbeing team together under one roof, our students are empowered to easily access resources, guidance, and a community that is committed to their wellbeing."
The establishment of the Wellbeing Hub aligns with Urangan State High School's just cause - empowering a community of curious learners, creative thinkers, and connected humans. By addressing mental health proactively, the school aims to foster a culture of openness, empathy, and resilience among its student body.
