Nominations for the School Council parent representative are OPEN.
To be eligible to nominate for this position you must be a parent of a student at Urangan State High School. To submit your name for consideration, all you have to do is email the P&C email (uranganshspandc@gmail.com).
The role of a School Council member includes:
- Assisting in strategic planning and development
- Understanding the difference and the delineation between operational, governance and strategic issues
- Liaising with relevant stakeholder groups to effectively represent views and opinions of staff, parent and community bodies (when explicitly authorised to do so by the Council)
- Engaging in shared leadership
- Working with other Council members, school personnel and other decision-making bodies, for the benefit and betterment of all students and the community
- Attending Council meetings as required;
- Preparing for (by reading materials in advance if required to do so) and actively engaging in Council meetings
