Students travelled to Bundaberg earlier this week for the AFLQ Schools Cup Wide Bay Final!
Both the Senior Girls (coached Ms Simonds) & Senior Boys (coached by Mr Lethborg) played superbly & have made it through to the next round of the AFLQ Schools Cup, which is the Metro North/Wide Bay Final to be held in Moreton Bay early in Term 3.
This means that all 4 of our USHS AFL teams have made it through to this 3rd round (junior boys & girls and senior boys & girls) which is super exciting! Permission slips & details for this will be out before the end of term.
The girls won their first game 23-20, against Hervey Bay SHS. A whopping 42-6 victory against Bundaberg SHS followed.
After a dominant first quarter, our boys kicked away to a 35 point lead at quarter time & finished the game with a 107-7 win! Coach Lethborg is quietly confident of another win at the next round of the Schools State Challenge Cup.
All students represented the school well, displaying outstanding sportsmanship & effort, & most importantly, #workingtogether in demonstrating pride in the mighty Dingoes!
